Shawdesh Desk:
Bill O’Reilly declared it’s “armageddon” in New York in a rant against New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) and New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D).
In a bonus segment for his No Spin News, O’Reilly pointed to two polls showing plenty of New Yorkers are as fed up with their leadership as he is. In a Siena College poll released last month, Hochul had a favorability rating of 34% compared to an unfavorable rating of 54%.
O’Reilly argued New York being the highest taxed state and infrastructure “falling apart” is behind the opposition to Hochul’s leadership.
“New York City is out of control. She is doing nothing to improve the situation. New York state is the highest-taxed state in the union. The infrastructure is falling apart, that’s why she has a 34% approval rating,” he said.
O’Reilly also referenced a Marist survey released this month that found Adams with a job approval rating of just 25% while his disapproval rating is 74%.
O’Reilly, who lives in New York, argued “quality of life” has gone down in the Big Apple under Adams. He called Adams’s predecessor, Bill De Blasio, the “worst” mayor of New York City thanks to controversial moves like a no bail policy for non-violent offenders.
O’Reilly argued:
This is Armageddon! So the two most powerful politicians, as I said, have lost credibility with the people, but that does mean that they or their party is going to be repudiated the next time around because there are people who will vote for failure. One name: Bill De Blasio. Two terms. Got reelected. The worst mayor in the city’s history, and it’s not even close, was reelected. Now Adams is suffering because of De Blasio because De Blasio wrecked the infrastructure of New York, particularly the criminal justice system. Adams came in and everybody hoped that he might improve the situation, but he has not improved it at all. Quality of life in New York City is worse than when he came in.
The former Fox News host called it “crazy” Hochul and Adams can’t find better approval among New Yorkers, considering Adams is following De Blasio and Hochul replaced Andrew Cuomo, who resigned from office.
O’Reilly begged his audience to just give him “one thing” either Hochul or Adams has done to improve their daily lives.
“If you are a New Yorker, tell me one thing, I just want one, that either Hochul or Adams have done to improve your life. One! I bet you can’t because I can’t and I’m pretty aware of the circumstance here in New York state,” he said. “I can’t think of one thing that either of them have done that has made my life or my family’s life better. Now that’s crazy because look at the baseline where they started. They started so low that you’d think they could have come up with something that would’ve improved what De Blasio and Cuomo left, but as John Belushi once said, ‘noooooooo!’”
